Sydney Weekend
Sydney Sunday with my mates
Tonight (Sunday), I went out with several friends to enjoy a Sydney weekend night. I’m quite a traditional mother, who rarely went out at night without my family and often arrives home before 11 pm. But tonight is an exception for with my friends.
Sydney at weekend is sleepless and very different from Sydney of the day. At night, people are less hurried and better looking. Streets are bright and noisier with smiles and music. The atmosphere makes people forget sleeping or working but making the most of their weekend before Monday (I hate Monday).
We walk along the CBD, tour around fashion shops and shoes shops have some fast food. Oh, I love Mc Donald ice cream, cheap but delicious! And we walk in the Apple store. It’s quite true that Apple stores are among those with the best design and best sellers in the world. Most of Apple staff are young and handsome guys. They are willing to satisfy customers, even our request of taking a photo of us from a model iphone of the latest version.
Dixon street in Chinatown
We end the night tour in Dixon street, the heart of Chinatown area. Dixon street stays up late, much more late than any streets in Sydney’s China town.
It’s really interesting to join a long line for 20 minutes just for buying the little hot cakes with 3 dollars and wander along the paved mall before you sit down for a bowl of hot congee. The tradition soup of Chinese people is hot, spicy and nutritious, that is more delicious than any fat fast food. Night time is when Dixon street receives many travelers.
It’s almost midnight now and I have to hurry back home with my family. I will tell my husband about the small part of Sydney at night I have enjoyed and we will go out for another time! Goodnight. Tomorrow is Monday.
